Josh Way
With more than twenty-five years experience in Design, Web Development, and Marketing, I am prepared and excited to bring my expertise and eye for detail to a new career, project, or team.
From coding to messaging to vector artwork, my decades of work in Higher Education Marketing have given me a wide variety of skills and proficiencies. During my time as a University Webmaster and Marketing Coordinator I was prominently involved in both an institutional rebranding and a renaming, intense projects that sharpened my teamwork, problem solving, and creativity.
Meanwhile in my moonlight hours I have fostered a second career as a graphic artist, cartoonist, and humorist with multiple online comics, books, podcasts, YouTube shows, and a professional comedy writing gig with RiffTrax.com (from the creators and stars of the cult hit “Mystery Science Theater 3000”). I bring the same spirit of humor and energy to all my work, whether marketing, art, or entertainment.
Digital Illustration
As a freelance illustrator and portraitist I have refined my skills with line art, color, caricature, and style. I’ve drawn avatars, caricatures, portraits, album covers, apparel designs, wall art, and much more. Related skills include Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, brush and font creation, color, composition, and more.
Web Design
For more than 25 years I have designed, built, coded, launched, and maintained enterprise-level websites in the higher education landscape. Related skills include: HTML 5, CSS, PHP, jquery, mySQL, WordPress, Google Analytics, Adobe Dreamweaver, eCommerce, Responsive Design, Accessibility, and many others.

Print Design
In addition to my primary role as Web Developer and Webmaster, I have also designed print advertisements and fliers as well as book covers and interiors. Related skills include: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Logo Design, Typography, Photo Editing, and more.
Comedy
In addition to the graphic arts I have also established a voice in the world of comedy. I’ve written jokes professionally with the creators and stars of “Mystery Science Theater 3000” on their current project RiffTrax, and written and hosted my own YouTube riffing show “Fun With Shorts” for more than twenty years.
